By: Robert L. Porter Jr.
MINNESOTA VIKINGS – NFC NORTH
(2015 record 11-5)
KEY ADDITIONS: WR Laquon Treadwell (rookie), CB Mackensie Alexander (rookie)
KEY DEPARTURES: WR Mike Wallace
Teddy Bridgewater and the Minnesota Vikings won the NFC North in 2015. The young QB passes for 3,231 yards and 14 TD’s and his All-Pro RB Adrian Peterson led the NFL in rushing with 1,485 yards on 327 carries. 11 wins is the best the Vikings have been able to muster in one season for some time and they are looking to build on that success in this upcoming season.
The disappointing run for WR Mike Wallace has come to a close, but before he headed to Baltimore he was surpassed but young stud WR Stefon Diggs as the top wide out for the Vikings. Diggs ended 2015 with 52 receptions, 720 yards and 4 TD’s. He along with TE Kyle Rudolph led the team in receptions, yards and TDs.
In 2016, the Vikings will have a new offensive weapon in 1st round pick Laqoun Treadwell. He will provide the Vikings with a big body receiver that can win 50-50 balls and beat up on smaller DBs. The Vikings will be in the mix for another division title in 2016. The battle between them and the Packers will be something to see.
KEY PLAYERS: LB Erick Kendricks, WR Laqoun Treadwell, QB Teddy Bridgewater
