WELCOME TO THE NFL OFFSEASON

The Super Bowl were we witnessed the greatest comeback in the history of our biggest stage was almost a month ago and the league has shifted over from trying to finish strong and get over the top to positioning yourselves to be successful for many years to come.

We’ve already saw Antonio Brown get an extension, LeVeon Bell among others receive the franchise tag and players like Jamaal Charles and Darrelle Revis be handed their walking papers. This is the time where owners, GMs and all personnel people on an NFL team has to detach themselves from the personal affection they may have for a player and their family.

This is when business decisions are made. Example: its obvious that the Steelers weren’t happy with a few things that Antonio Brown has done over the last few months but his productivity cant be denied and as a result he signs a big extension. On the other side of that is Jamaal Charles, he’s a great team guy but the fact is he can not stay on the field because of injury and due to that he doesn’t have a team at this moment. We entirely expect him to land somewhere very soon but the point is made.

Evaluation of your own players as well as others are at a premium right now. The Scouting combine is underway and we get a look at the future of our league but you cant do anything but feel bad for guys like Victor Cruz who will find a team but will his opportunities be minimized by a Mike Williams or any other WR entering the league this year?

At the end of the day, the game is played on the field but this is the time when the pieces needed to win those games and ultimately a championship are evaluated, persuaded and put into place. So ladies and gentlemen………. Free Agency, Scouting Combine, Franchise Tags, NFL Draft and so much more.
