2016 record: 10-3 (7-2 in conference)

Pass yards per game: 257.2

Points scored per game: 31.2

The Mountaineers won 10 games in 2016 behind QB Skyler Howard’s 3,328 passing yards and 26 passing TDs, he also added 10 rushing TDs. Howard’s top target was WR Shelton Gibson who had 43 rec 951 yards and 8 TDs. In a tough Big 12, this was a solid team that saw its 2 conference losses come at the hands of Oklahoma and Oklahoma state. This years match ups will have just as much Big 12 title implications as last years did.

Coach Dana Holgorson is looking to have his mountaineers in the college football playoffs this upcoming season and its entirely possible because this is a balanced and disciplined team from top to bottom
