SCARECROWGRIN FANTASY FOOTBALLWEEKLY: OCT. 2nd, 2017

FANTASY FOOTBALL WEEK 5

A quarter of the NFL season is in the books and there are things we’ve witnessed that isn’t seen that often, yet there’s still a few things we are waiting to see. Examples of both ……….. 27.00 fantasy points by a kicker (Greg Zuerlien) is something you rarely see and we are still waiting to see Jay Ajayi dip his toe into this fantasy season because it hasn’t happened yet.

EYE POPPING PERFORMANCES

Rookie QB DeShaun Watson (41.72 fantasy points) came out and showed that his huge day against the swiss cheese like Patriots defense wasn’t a fluke as he proceeded to torch a half way decent Tennessee Titans secondary for a team record 57 points. We mentioned the Patriots defense from last week, this week they ran into Cam Newton (41.04 fantasy points) and his Carolina Panthers. Newton put on his best DeShaun Watson impersonation, the only difference was Tom Brady (26.48 fantasy points) wasn’t able to pull his Tom Terrific late game heroics because he didnt have the final possession.

LeVeon Bell (34.60 fantasy points) had a game that fantasy owners were accustomed to seeing last year. Bell had 39 touches 186 total yards and 2 Touchdowns, he look to be past his hold out and back on track. Bilal Powell (32.00 fantasy points) got the start for the injured Matt Forte and proceeded to rack up 190 total yards on 25 touches. He also added a 75 yard TD run.

TRENDS AND TENDENCIES

Its becoming obvious that Travis Kelce (24.40 fantasy points) is an even week player, in weeks 1 and 3 he combined for 10.50 points but in weeks 2 and 4 he tallied up a combined 48.70 points ( just a fun fact, dont sit kelce……… Ever). Another trend we’re seeing is that #2 WRs step up vs this Philadelphia Eagles defense. In the last 2 weeks the Eagles faced Odell Beckham Jr and Keenan Allen, both guys had very good games but their #2’s racked up season highs. Sterling Shepard had 27.30 in week 3 and Tyrell Williams had 23.50 in week 4. So this week John Brown and/or J.J. Nelson should be a good play.

This isn’t really a trend or tendency but for tonights game between the Patriots and Buccaneers you should start any pass catcher you have from either team. The weather may not be great but Tom Brady and Jameis Winston are Quarterbacks that can still sling it in the elements. I expect along of points to be scored.

WEEK 4 BREAKOUT CANDIDATES (RESULT)

QB – Andy Dalton – 36.34

RB – Frank Gore – 11.00

WR – Tyrell Williams – 23.50

We had a great week 4 with our breakouts. We gave you the 3rd highest scoring QB and the 3rd highest scoring WR. Frank Gore didn’t kill it against Seattle but 11 points is still solid.

WEEK 5 BREAKOUT CANDIDATES

QB – Tyrod Taylor – Bills

RB – Jerick Mckinnon – Vikings

WR – Jeremy Maclin – Ravens

Thanks for stopping by for our fantasy insight. If you are taking what we’re giving, I’d assume you’re doing well so far this season. See you next week when we checkout how our week 5 BOC did.
