SCARECROWGRIN FANTASY FOOTBALL WEEKLY: DEC. 7th, 2017
FANTASY FOOTBALL WEEK 14
After 13 weeks the regular season is over and its time for the fantasy playoffs. Its One and done from here on out, its our job to prepare you for the week and give you the proper tools and insight to keep this playoff run going.
QUARTERBACK, WIDE RECEIVER COMBOS
Over the last month a few QB/WR combos have gotten hot and led fantasy teams into the playoffs on a high note. Big Ben and Antonio Brown have scored a combined 238.60 fantasy points over the past 4 games. Not to be out done is Philip Rivers and Keenan Allen who has combined for 215.06. If you have even one of these 4 players on your team, I’m sure you’re very happy. If you have one of the actual combos, you are sitting pretty right now my friend.
Now the we’re in the one and done games. Streaming the right players could determine whether you are playing a game next week or not. With that said there are a few situations to keep an eye on. Joe Mixon suffered a concussion on Monday night football and his status is unclear for this week. Gio Bernard played every offensive snap after Mixon went down. If Mixon sits, Gio could be in for a huge work load. Oddly enough, Doug Martin and Peyton Barber are in a similar situation but Martin has returned to practice so it looks like he will play but keep a close watch on this because Barber is a talented back that can do some things when given a chance.
Derek Carr has been dropped in a lot of leagues so he may be on your waiver wire. If this is the case, pick him up and start him against the horrible Chiefs secondary. Carr has Crabtree returning from suspension and he may also get Amari Cooper back from his concussion. Case Keenum has a tough match up against the Panthers but he’s been beating tough match ups all year. If he’s out there give him a look.
TIGHT END POSITION
With the Tight end position being iffy at best all year, if you are in the playoffs you’ve obviously made due. Greg Olsen is up in the air and Gronk is suspended so a guy like Ricky Seals-Jones is a real option. Blaine Gabbert has a lot of trust in him and he’s a big body that has been getting good red zone action. A more risky play is Jags TE Marcedes Lewis, he doesn’t do much between the 20’s but Bortles looks for him in scoring range. A TD against a Seattle defense that will be set on stopping Leonard Fournette is a real possibility.
