SCARECROWGRIN FANTASY FOOTBALL WEEKLY: DEC.14, 2017
FANTASY FOOTBALL WEEK 15
With week 1 of the fantasy football playoffs in the books, we look at what we saw and what we will see going forward. If you are still alive for a title, listen close as we look to give you winning plays to help you keep the momentum and ultimately win your fantasy league.
WELCOME BACK TO FANTASY RELEVANCE
Chiefs Running back Kareem Hunt ( 22.80 fantasy points) finally reappeared after he went missing in the middle of the year. In week 14 against the Raiders he had touches for yards and his first TD since week 4. Another player that stepped back into the spotlight was Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott ( 34.58 fantasy points). Dak threw for a career high 332 yards in a divisional match up with the New York Giants, he also passed for 3 TDs all from 20 yards out or more. Its was a pleasant sight as most teams that had these players all year, most likely played them so its good to see the loyalty to your players pay off as the post season got underway
ANNNNNNNNDDDD IT CONTINUES
The three wide outs that have been tearing it up over the past month or so continued their dominance this past week. Keenan Allen ( 17.10 fantasy points) and his Chargers set up a battle for first place with the Chiefs this coming Saturday but against Washington he racked up rec and yards. On Sunday night football Antonio Brown ( 34.30 fantasy points) led a spirited comeback against the division rival Ravens, Brown went over 200 yards receiving and made multiple tough catches as always. DeAndre Hopkins ( 35.90 fantasy points) has shown that it doesn’t matter who the quarterback is in Houston because he’s gonna produce.
LeVeon Bell ( 39.50 fantasy points) and his 3 TDs made sure his fantasy owners advanced to the next round. He also totaled yards and receptions in the Steelers win over Baltimore. And last but definitely not least, Carson Wentz ( 35.24 fantasy points) threw 4 TDs in just 3 quarters as he suffered an injury to his leg that will cost him the rest of this season.
SWIMMING UP STREAM
Last week Gio Bernard ( 19.00 fantasy points) and Jay Cutler ( 28.92 were great streaming plays and they panned out. This week Rod Smith ( 33.00 fantasy points) will see more work as he had a day in MetLife Stadium and this is the last game of Ezekiel Elliotts suspension so the Cowboys won’t save anything with Smith. Another solid stream will be QB Blaine Gabbert as the Redskins pass defense has been getting beat up as of late. If you are looking for help in you match up take a look at these guys.
BREAKOUT CANDIDATES WEEK 14 (RESULTS)
QB – Derek Carr – 12.44
RB – Dion Lewis – 11.70
WR – Stefon Diggs – 13.40
I’m not gonna lie, Derek Carr was a bad pick. Dion Lewis gave you almost 12 PPR points but I will admit he was the wrong Patriots RB as Rex Burkhead scored 16.30. Just about 13 and a half points is solid from Diggs also but we want better than solid.
BREAKOUT CANDIDATES WEEK 15
QB – Jameis Winston – Buccaneers
RB – Jay Ajayi – Eagles
WR – Jordy Nelson – Packers
