Andy Reid and the Chiefs started red hot at 5-0 with huge wins over the defending champion Patriots and then the NFC’s top Seeded Eagles in weeks 1 and 2. They scored 164 total points in those 5 games, which is just about 33 ppg. After That start they went ice cold as they lost 6 of their next 7. The teams fortune seems to hinge on the performance of rookie RB Kareem Hunt, when he’s going the team is going.

The team stabilized when December started as they ended the year with 4 straight wins and an AFC West division title. The defense is this team biggest question mark as they have a lot of trouble stopping the big play. In games where they minimize the big plays they are near unstoppable but when they can’t do that they look like a team that shouldn’t win 1 game let alone 10.

With skilled position players like Travis Kelce, Tyreek Hill, Kareem Hunt and the steady hand of QB Alex Smith, this team can score with anyone. They have also shown that they can compete with the top teams in the AFC, the Patriots win was already mentioned but a tight game with the Steelers that was turned on a freak tip drill play by Antonio Brown shows they can definitely give these teams all they can handle and more.

Offensive MVP: Kareem Hunt ( rookie )

Defensive MVP: Marcus Peters
