The Philadelphia Eagles came into the 2017 season as an after thought in the NFC East with the Cowboys and Giants both coming off great years in 2016 but as we have seen so many times, the NFL is a year to year league and this year definitely was different. The Eagles not only blew away the entire NFC East but for most of the year, they had the entire league in the palm of their hand.
Doug Pederson is a legitimate Coach of the year candidate as he’s propelled this team from a 7-9 bottom dweller to an all out Juggernaut in just a matter of months. His 2nd year QB Carson Wentz was the front runner for the MVP award with his precision passing and Harry Houdini escape acts until a week 14 misstep against the Rams put him on the shelf for the remainder of the season.
The Eagles head into the post season with backup QB Nick Foles running the offense, even though they aren’t riding as high as they were when Wentz was healthy, they have the skill players and defense to still give them a legit shot at winning the Conference and representing the NFC in the Super Bowl.
Offensive MVP: Carson Wentz
Defensive MVP: Fletcher Cox
