The NFL new league starts today
With the new league year officially starting today at 4pm let’s take a look at the movement that has (reportedly) taken place already.
The Cleveland Browns have been very busy as they have already traded for QB Tyrod Taylor, WR Jarvis Landry and CB Damarious Randall. They have also shipped QB DeShone Kizer and DT Danny Shelton out. The team has also seen RB Isaiah Crowell agree to terms with the New York Jets as did CB Trumaine Johnson.
The SuperBowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles have also saw some movement as they’ve traded WR Torrey Smith to the Carolina Panthers for CB Daryl Worley and traded for DE Michael Bennett from the Seahawks. The team released TE Brent Celek, lost TE Trey Burton to the Chicago Bears and DT Haloti Ngata has agree to join this already stacked Defensive front.
The Los Angeles Rams traded for Cornerbacks Marcus Peters and Aqib Talib in an effort to bolster that secondary in hopes of making a run at the NFC title. CB Richard Sherman was released by the Seahawks and has agreed to a 3 year deal with their rival 49ers.
In Quarterback news: Drew Brees and the Saints have agreed to a 2yr $50 million dollar contract to keep him in New Orleans. Kirk Cousins will be going to Minnesota for 3yr $84 million while Case Keenum goes to Denver, Sam Bradford goes to Arizona and Teddy Bridgewater joins the Jets. Josh McCown has also resigned with the jets for 1yr and $10 million dollars.
Allen Robinson and Taylor Gabriel will be Chicago Bears, Malcolm Butler agrees to join the Titans, Sammy Watkins has agreed to terms with the Kansas city Chiefs and the Packers swapped out TD pass receivers as they released WR Jordy Nelson and agreed to terms with TE Jimmy Graham.
These are just a few of the transactions that have taken place already. This league has already started off as interesting and intriguing as the last one ended. Stay tuned for more movement as we inch closer to the NFL Draft.
