We are starting to get into the heart of the season, thats always evident to us when the London games begin to roll around. Speaking of the London game, the Seahawks were all over the Raiders as they breezed to a 27 – 3 win. Russell Wilson (26.88 PPR points) put up 3 TDs in that contest.
In a spot start for the Miami Dolphins, Brock Osweiler (34.00 PPR points) led them to an overtime win over the Chicago Bears with 380 yards passing and 3 touchdowns. In that same game WR Albert Wilson (35.00 PPR points) snagged 6 catches for 155 yards and 2 TDs and Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky (35.34 PPR points) put up another great point total all be it in a lost. He tossed for 316 and 3 TDs, he also added 47 yards rushing.
Tyrell Williams (26.90 PPR points) only had 3 catches but he made them count as he totalled 118 yard and 3 TDs. All 3 of his catches went for 29 yards or more (45, 44 and 29 yards). Not to be out done his teammate Melvin Gordon (35.00 PPR points) had 18 carries for 132 yards with 3 TDs as the Chargers took care of the Browns 38 – 14. Guys like Gordon, Todd Gurley (38.50 PPR points) and Saqoun Barkley (38.90 PPR points) are basically shoe ins for 20+ fantasy points on a weekly basis. We would add James Conner (28.90 PPR points) to that mix but with reports that LeVeon Bell will be returning between weeks 7 and 8 we will have to hold off on that and keep a close eye on this situation.
In what’s become a weekly thing, a few shootouts broke out in week 6. Bucs vs Falcons was a high scoring game as was Jets vs Colts but the Sunday night game saw Patrick Mahomes (36.98 PPR points) and his Chiefs against Tom Brady (25.80 PPR points) and the defending AFC champion Patriots. This game saw 83 points and 946 total yards. Kareem Hunt (29.50 PPR points) racked up nearly 200 all purpose yards (80 rushing and 105 receiving). After a shakey first half Mahomes turned it on in the 2nd half and brought his team back from a 24 – 9 deficit. Tyreek Hill (39.20 PPR points) hauled in 7 catches for 142 yards and 3 TDs but in the end Brady, Edelman, Sony Michel (22.60 PPR points) and his 2 rushing TDs along with Stephen Gostowski’s (22.00 PPR points) 4 field goals and 5 PATs held the Chiefs off 43 – 40.
The Jaguars defense hasn’t been what we’ve expected to start this season. After a rough week against the high powered Chiefs offense. They we’re beat up by an inept Dallas Cowboys offense to the tune of 40 – 7. Cole Beasley (31.10 PPR points) snagged 9 catches for 101 yards and 2 TDs from Dak Prescott (33.52 PPR points) who added 82 yards and a rushing TD to go with his 183 yards passing.
WEEK 6 BREAKOUT CANDIDATES REVIEW
QB – Jameis Winston – 40.90 points
RB – Corey Clement – 16.40 points
WR – Tyler Boyd – 25.20 points
Corey Clement started our week off good as he didn’t start but definitely was the finisher for Philadelphia as they dismantled the Giants on Thursday night. An early TD, some tough running and a receptions made for a respectable stat line and nearly 17 PPR points. Winston’s 4 TDs vs the Falcons weren’t enough for a win but it was right on time in fantasy football. Tyler Boyd had a big game vs the Steelers. He hauled in 2 TDs with 7 receptions and 62 yards.
This was the big week we were looking for from our breakout candidates. 82.70 combined points is great production and if you put these 3 guys into your lineup you most likely came away victorious in week 6.
WEEK 7 BREAKOUT CANDIDATES
QB – Andy Dalton – @ Chiefs
RB – Tarik Cohen – vs Patriots
WR – Jarvis Landry – @ Buccaneers
Stop by next week to see how our breakout candidates did i. Their week 7 match ups as we try to top the 82.70 PPR points thag we totalled last week.
