Week 9 saw some of the better players in fantasy football on bye weeks (Joe Mixon, Tyler Boyd, Saquon Barkley, Carson Wentz, Andrew Luck and Eric Ebron). So we will look to see how some of the replacements did.

Before we get into the replacements, let’s take a look at the Rams vs Saints game that saw 80 points scored. Drew Brees (41.44 PPR points) and Michael Thomas (41.10 PPR points) dialed up some huge plays against the Rams secondary while Alvin Kamara (33.60 PPR points) scored 3 TDs in a first half that saw the Saints score 35 points. Jared Goff (37.34 PPR points) had some good monents in this game but he and his previously undefeated Rams didn’t have enough fire power to run down New Orleans in the Superdome.

Kareem Hunt (33.10 PPR points) made his home coming to the Cleveland area where him and his Chiefs disposed of Baker Mayfield and the Browns to move to 8-1 n the year. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes (34.80 PPR points) added 3 more TDs to the historical pace he’s been on. Matt Ryan (38.00 PPR points) and Tevin Coleman (32.60 PPR points) went into the Nations capital and beat up on the NFC East leading readskins and its extremely note worthy that Julio Jones (26.10 PPR points) found the endzone for the first time this season.

Alot of those players we mentioned already are known for huge fantasy numbers on a weekly basis but here’s a few of those replacements we talked about that had big time showings this past week. Adam Humphries (28.90 PPR points) hauled in 8 catches for 82 yards and 2 TDs from Ryan Fitzpatrick (32.02 PPR points). Nick Mullens (28.18 PPR points) made the last minute start for the 49ers as they throttled the Raiders 34-3. Last but not least was Broncos Tight End Jeff Heuerman (25.30 PPR points) who had a breakout game against the Texans and with how thin the TE position has been this year, his performance was right on time for someone out there.

QB – Derek Carr – 7.34 points

RB – Nick Chubb – 16.00 points

WR – Devin Funchess – 8.40 points

The “Derek Carr is a solid QB” talk is over for me. Carr looked nervous and frazzled all game on Thursday as he stumbled to a sub 8 point game. Nick Chubb had a good output against the Chiefs so this pick was a win but Devin Funchess fell victim to the Bucs run defense being atrocious. With multiple rushing TDs, even matchup proof QB Cam Newton didnt score over 10 points until the 4th quarter. Newton would ultimately end with over 25 fantasy points. This was a Christian Mccaffery (32.70 PPR points) game all day.

QB – Philip Rivers – @ Oakland

RB – David Johnson – @ Chiefs

WR – Amari Cooper – @ Eagles

David Johnson is a prime candidate as he’s had a down year and alot of fantasy owners have lost faith in him. Look for a heavy workload as the Cards try to keep Pat Mahomes on the bench. In a must win divisional, the Dallas Cowboys have to win this game and if monday night showed us anything its they believe Amari Cooper is one of their keys to victory. He saw 8 targets last week, expect more this week. And finally any QB vs the Raiders should be money right now so Philip Rivers is a no brainer.

Stop by next week as we look to get back on track with our Breakout Candidates. As always Thanks for the read and we hope our insight helps you get a fantasy win.
