ScarecrowGrin’s Fantasy Football 2 cents ( 11/29/18 )

By: Robert L. Porter jr

After the Thanksgiving holiday snuffed out our week 12 two cents, we’re back looking forward to week 13 which is the final week of the fantasy football regular season for alot of leagues. Before we dive into that lets give you our last BOC review first.

QB – Marcus Mariota – 3.10 PPR points

RB – Aaron Jones – 27.30 PPR points

WR – Kenny Golladay – 25.30 PPR points

Aaron Jones and Kenny Golladay combined for a stellar 52.60 PPR points. Aaron jones had 16 touches (5 catches) for 106 total yards and 2 TDs (1 rushing, 1 receiving), while Golladay had 8 receptions for 117 yards and 1 receiving touchdown. Unfortunately, Marcus Mariota re-injured his throwing elbow early in the Titans game against Indianapolis. He exited and never returned to the contest.

Just to put a bow on this, in week 12 Aaron Jones scored 18.30 PPR points against the Vikings in a losing effort while Kenny Golladay snagged 5 catches for 90 yards which added up to 14.00 PPR points. Mariota lost on Monday Night Football but had a good statistical game that saw him score 28.92 PPR points. So our BOC’s totaled 55.70 points in week 11 then 61.22 points in week 12. Neither were bad out puts but we want and need more if we are looking for a fantasy championship.

Amari Cooper torched Washington for 8 catches, 180 yards and 2 TDs on Thanksgiving. His 2 TDs came from 40 and 90 yards out. That was good for 40.00 PPR points but he was only 2nd best in week 12. Panthers RB Christian Mccaffery did it all against the Seahawks. He had 17 carries for 125 yards and a TD while also racking up 11 receptions for 112 yards and a TD, that stat line was good for 46.70 PPR points and the top spot. Number 3 in scoring this week was JuJu Smith-Schuster who had 17 targets that resulted in 13 grabs and 189 yards but a 97 yard TD catch and run was his highlight as he’s quickly becoming one of the leagues most dangerous big play threats.

After those top 3 players its all QBs ( Kirk Cousins 35.38, Baker Mayfield 33.92, Deshaun Watson 33.40, Andrew Luck 31.60, Dak Prescott 31.36) and Saquon Barkley who racked up 33.20 PPR points in basically the first half against the Eagles. His day could’ve been even better but it seems as if the Giants didnt want to beat the Eagles because Barkley only saw 5 touches after half time as Philadelphia came back from a 19-3 deficit to win 25-22.

QB – Lamar Jackson – @ Falcons

RB – Austin Ekeler – @ Steelers

WR – D.J. Moore – @ Buccaneers

We are going with 3 players on the road this week but all 3 guys look to have heavy workloads on the horizon. Lamar Jackson’s running ability is common knowledge but he is getting better and better in the passing game and against the Falcons on that fast track we expect a huge day from him. Austin Ekeler, with Melvin Gordon on the shelf for a little while this one was a no brainer. Ekeler was already a presence in the screen game but his role will expand going forward. D.j. Moore has become the Panthers #1 receiver and with Devin Funchess and Greg Olsen still banged up there’s no one but Moore and Christian Mccaffery for Cam Newton to throw the ball to.

Its good to be back and we hope that these Breakout Candidates will help you end your fantasy regular season on a high note and propel you on to a fantasy championship. Good luck and thanks for stopping by for our fantasy 2 cents.
