ScarecrowGrin’s Fantasy Football 2 Cents (12/13/18) Playoff Edition week 2
By: Robert L. Porter Jr
Week 1 of the fantasy playoffs is in the books and its fair to say it felt kind of like we we’re in Bizarro World because we saw some top fantasy scorers not show up and on the other hand some guys who’ve faded into fantasy oblivion come up with huge performances.
We had 2 more entries to the 50 point club. This weeks top scorer was Cowboys Wide out Amari Cooper (51.70 PPR points) who topped his Thanksgiving output of 8 receptions, 180 yards and 2 TDs with a 10 catch, 217 yard and 3 TD showing against the division rival Eagles. On Thursday Night football Derrick Henry (50.30 PPR points) had 17 carries or a mind blowing 238 yards and 4 TDs. The former Heisman Winner tied an NFL record with a 99 yard TD run where he stiff armed and shed tacklers the whole way. Number 3 in scoring this week was TE George Kittle (36.00 PPR points). Kittle had 7 catches, 210 yards and 1 TD, the crazy part about his stat line is he did all that in the first half alone. He missed a new NFL receiving record for Tight Ends by just 5 yards because he didn’t get a single catch in the 2nd half.
Tom Brady (34.62 PPR points) was the top scoring QB in week 14 but there was some other Quarterbacks that came out of nowhere with big fantasy point outputs. Dak Prescott (33.40 PPR points) had a career high 455 passing yards and 3 TDs all to his new #1 WR Amari Cooper while Ryan Tannehill (29.90 PPR points) tossed 3 TDs in a dramatic come from behind win over the New England Patriots. Mark Sanchez started for the Redskins but Josh Jackson (27.30 PPR points) entered the game in relief and surprisingly scored 2 TDs on their way to a huge lose to the Giants.
Speaking of the Giants, Rookie sensation Saquon Barkley (31.70 PPR points) torched the Redskins to the tune of 18 touches for 197 yards and a rushing TD. Ezekiel Elliott (31.20 PPR points) had 114 yards rushing and was able to snag a whopping 12 catches as he helped the Dallas Cowboys win their 5th straight game. T. Y. Hilton (30.90 PPR points) had 9 receptions for 199 yards as he and his Colts end the Texans 9 game winning streak and stay in the mix for a playoff spot.
WEEK 14 BREAKOUT CANDIDATES REVIEW

Our week 14 Breakout Candidates scored a total of 40.22 PPR points. Jaylen Samuels had solid numbers especially when guys like Todd Gurley (8.80 PPR points), Leonard Fournette (6.10 PPR points) and James White (4.80 PPR points) put up duds in week 1 of the fantasy playoffs. Jameis Winston scored over 23 points against the Saints which made him a great stream. If you played Winston you were not disappointed. Nelson had 6 catches in a Raiders win over the Steelers.
