2019 Fantasy Football Old Faces, New Places

OLD FACES, NEW PLACES

By: Robert L. Porter jr

Its August 1st and you all know what that means…………. ITS FANTASY FOOTBALL SEASON !!!!!!!!!(yea i know its the start of the Preseason with the Broncos vs Falcons in tonight’s HOF game but that’s not what this article is about lol).

With Fantasy Drafts just around the corner, its about that time where owners start to look at IDP’s, Sleepers and Bust candidates. Like past years ScarecrowGrin.com is the place you can come to get some next level fantasy insight that will help you draft a solid squad and manage that squad over the duration of the fantasy football season. Look, our goal here is to make you into a champion and the journey to that championship starts today.

We will start off by taking a look at a few players that are in different area codes than they were the last time you saw them step on the field for some meaningful football. The first few players are extremely obvious……..

ODELL BECKHAM JR

Odell’s trade from New York was much needed for him and the Giants locker room but was the trade a plus for fantasy football players ???? Beckham was in a Giants offense that basically had him and Saquon Barkley with some Evan Engram sprinkled in when healthy so the targets where always a given. Now that he’s in Cleveland, its a known fact that he’s in a more talented offense so its hard to see him get the volume as a Brown that he did as a Giant. Jarvis Landry, Nick Chubb, David Njoku, Antonio Callaway, Duke Johnson (if not traded) and Kareem Hunt (when available) are alot of guys to compete for touches with. In real life football Odell is in a much better place to succeed and win but as far as fantasy football is concerned he doesn’t seem to be worth his #15 IDP.

ANTONIO BROWN

Alot like the Odell Beckham and New York situation, AB and the Steelers needed to part ways so they both could have a fresh start. Now in Oakland, Brown and QB Derek Carr seem to have hit it off and that can only be good for him but the numbers he has put up in the past may make his expectations from fantasy owners too high. Rookie Josh Jacobs and #2 WR Tyrell Williams aren’t JuJu Smith-Schuster and LeVeon Bell or James Conner but that doesnt mean he will see the ball more. John Gruden is a run first coach that believes in establishing the run, that sets up the play action pass. That’s in stark contrast to the Steelers who I’ve seen throw the ball 10 or 11 straight times to start a game. AB will get his numbers because he is one of the best to ever play receiver but it wont be to the level it was in the Steel city. He has been going around pick 20 or 21 which is a solid spot for him. That feels weird to say with all the monster fantasy seasons he has put together.

LEVEON BELL

LeVeon Bell is finally back on an NFL football field. It felt like he was gone for longer than a year. Well for those owners that snagged James Conner last year, it probably wasn’t that bad to you lol. But Bell is now a New York Jet and we believe that he will have every opportunity to end this season with 2,000 total yards. He comes in as the unchallenged #1 option in this Jets offense. Add to that, Sam Darnold is still a young Quarterback. The numbers say when a young QB gets into trouble he is more likely to look for the Check down quicker than a veteran QB. Which means more looks for Bell in the passing game. Bells IDP is 12.7 which is early 2nd in most drafts. Great value for a 2nd round pick because you should expect 1st round productivity

MARK INGRAM

Mark ingram went from a backfield with him and Alvin Kamara to a backfield in Baltimore that has even more mouths to feed and a run first quarterback but despite that we believe Ingram will be very productive for the Ravens. The threat of Lamar Jackson taking off will keep defenses honest and that will open holes for Ingram to run through. Alex Collins, Buck Allen and Kenneth Dixon will make it harder for Ingram to just cease that job all to himself but he has a high touchdown upside to him and that makes is IDP around the mid 4th round fairly reasonable. Take IDP out of it for a moment, if you have Ingram as a 3rd RB/ Flex you are in very good shape.

These are just a few of the players that are now on new teams. Other Players to keep and eye on in new places are Tevin Coleman, Devin Funchess, Jared Cook and Randall Cobb just to name a couple.

Thanks for dropping by, come back for more Fantasy Draft Preparation in the coming days……. Its back people now lets get the right information to make this season one for the ages.
